Our mission is clear, “To bring together with courage and authenticity the people whose command, presence, and sense of self communicate that special quality we recognize as leather for the purpose of validation, celebration, and exploration.”
As the winner of IML 38 and now the organization’s new Executive Director, I am proud and honored to invite you all to join the mission: to validate and care for one other with complete abandon, to celebrate with your tribes and revel in our spaces, and to explore with courage your kinks, sexual identity and shameless authenticity.

David Ronneberg
DAVID RONNEBERG SELECTED AS NEW IML EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Trustees of the Renslow Charitable Foundation selected David Ronneberg, International Mr. Leather 2016 (IML 38), as the new Executive Director of IML.
David has served in leadership positions for several luxury retail brands, assembling strong teams that drove sales and transformed the experience of both the customers and the employees. His Director-level experience ranges from sales, to human resources, to operations, arming him with a portfolio of skills that he can draw on to continue the IML legacy and help it grow into the future.
The selection came from an extremely talented field of applicants that showcased some of the best and brightest in the Leather community both within the United States and abroad. David knows he cannot do it alone, and looks forward to working with returning staff (whether in the same positions or new ones) and welcoming new faces to the amazing group of people who make IML happen every year.
Chuck Renslow once told David that he had the “heart of a Leatherman.” He looks forward to helping others discover that within themselves.
